Jeremiah 29:13 – KRK Church Sermon July 2026

Seek God with all your heart and you will find Him. Pastor Lynn N unpacks what it means to seek God's face rather than His hand, why prayers get delayed, and why coming out of religion and back into direct relationship with the Father is the key to real victory.

It is written in Jeremiah 29:13:

[13] And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Last week we discussed that the key to victory in our lives is a complete and unconditional surrender to God, and God alone. We discussed seeking God’s face instead of seeking God’s hand — that His ways are better than our ways. If you do it God’s way, He Himself will lead you to victory over the devil and provide for you everything you need in this life.

Ask, Seek, Knock

It is written in Matthew 6:7–8:

[7] But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
[8] Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

God is a good, good Father and knows not only what we need, but also what we want as well — and He will give it to you if you ask Him. It is written in Matthew 7:7–8:

[7] Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
[8] For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

It is written in Jeremiah 29:11:

[11] For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

When God’s Provision Is Delayed

Now, there are times when the devil and his minions — or our own sins — can delay God’s provision for us, as we see in Daniel 10:5–13:

[5] Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:
[6] His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in color to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
[7] And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.
[8] Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.
[9] Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.
[10] And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.
[11] And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.
[12] Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
[13] But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

Then it is written in Isaiah 59:2:

[2] But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

So we see here that both can be true — but we also know clearly that God wants the best for all of His children. This is why it is written in 2 Chronicles 7:14:

[14] If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Judgment Begins at the House of God

Now, we have strayed away from God in a lot of ways in our churches and denominations, and allowed the devil and his minions to come in and change God’s Word into doctrines of devils. But we can’t just blame the devil — he is just doing his job, and God warned us, as it is written in 1 Peter 4:17:

[17] For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

When Jesus died on the cross, He conquered sin and gave us back all the power and authority to walk in victory over the devil and to occupy until Jesus returns.

One Father, One Teacher

Now the devil was crafty and used entities like the Holy Roman Empire to deceive God’s people into believing that only the Catholic Church or the Pope should have the Bible — and that we should just go to the Catholic Church to get their interpretation of God’s Word, and not have our own Bibles so God can show us His truth.

So God raised up Martin Luther, who started the Lutheran Church, to show us that we only have one Father and one Teacher, as it is written in Matthew 23:8:

[8] But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi’; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren.

And it is written in Matthew 23:9:

[9] And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

Does not the Catholic Church call their bishops, priests, and the Pope “Teacher” — and even “Holy Father”? It is written in Mark 10:18:

[18] And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

Even Jesus did not confess to be on God’s level, and He never called Himself holy. How about having their congregation praying to Mother Mary or some saint instead of praying directly to God — when Jesus died, the veil was ripped. This ripped veil gave us direct access to the Holy of Holies where God is seated. No longer do we need the priest — Jesus was our intercessor — to pray for us.

The Church in the Book of Acts

You do not need to go to a church to be a Christian. Just look at the Book of Acts — the believers met in their homes. There was a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit accompanied by miracles, signs and wonders, healings, and deliverance.

Where is that in most modern-day churches today? It is almost non-existent. Instead we have bingo night and prosperity teachings, along with people in the five-fold ministry charging you for a prophecy or a healing. But in the Book of Acts, God gave all of these things to people who simply believed and trusted in Him, along with seeking His face.

The Face and Favor of God

Let’s look at that — the face, or countenance, of God, and what that means. It is written in Psalm 90:17:

[17] And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

That is the KJV, but in the NIV version of Psalm 90:17 it says “and let the favor of the Lord” instead of “beauty” — showing that God’s beauty (His face) is the same as His favor.

When we sin, God in His nature will look away from us. It is written in Micah 3:4:

[4] Then they will cry out to the Lord, but he will not answer; at that time he will hide his face from them because of the evil they have done.

We all must come out of this religious spirit we have been in and turn wholeheartedly back to God, then let Him teach us His truths in our Bibles. Everything we need to know was written down for us in our Bibles, and seeking God’s face — filled with the Holy Spirit — is the key to understanding it.

That will then lead us to God’s perfect will for our lives, which was written in the Book of Life before we were born. To know God personally is to know real victory, and it brings shalom — peace — in our lives, no matter what the devil brings against us.

If God is for us and His countenance is upon us in His favor, then we will live a rich life here on earth until Jesus comes. Then our lives really get good — no more pain, or sorrow, or lack of anything!

Well, that is it for now. God bless you, and may His countenance be upon you at all times.

Give Your Life to Christ

If you would like to give your life and heart to Christ Jesus — our Lord and Savior, who is the only way to the Father — please pray this prayer:

Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God, that You died on the cross to rescue me from sin and death and to restore me to the Father. I choose now to turn from my sins, my ways, and every part of my life that does not please You. I choose You. I give myself to You. I receive Your forgiveness and ask You to take Your rightful place in my life as my Savior and Lord. Come reign in my heart, fill me with the Holy Spirit and the love of Christ Your Son. And help me to fulfill everything that is written about me in the Book of Life. May Your perfect will, covenants, and precepts be done in my life as it is in Heaven. Restore me, Jesus. Live in me. Love through me. Thank You, God. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
