Jehu: A Zealous Leader Chosen by God

Discover the story of Jehu, a leader appointed by God to eradicate the evil practices of his time, and reflect on the lessons we can learn from his obedience and zeal for God's will.

Jehu

Jehu was the tenth king of the northern Kingdom of Israel since Jeroboam I, noted for exterminating the house of Ahab. He was the son of Jehoshaphat, grandson of Nimshi, and possibly great-grandson of Omri, although the latter notion is not supported by the biblical text. His reign lasted 28 years. William F. Albright has dated Jehu’s reign to 842–815 BCE, while E. R. Thiele offers the dates 841–814

We need a Jehu in these evil times but we cannot forget the end of Jehu’s life where it is written in 2nd Kings 10:29 29 Howbeit from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, Jehu departed not from after them, to wit, the golden calves that were in Bethel, and that were in Dan. And in 2nd Kings 10:31 31 But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the Lord God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin. God had chosen him to put an end to the reign of Queen Jezebel and King Ahabs 70 sons. It is written in 2nd Kings 10:30

It is written in 2nd Kings 9:And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramothgilead:

And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber;

Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith the Lord, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not.

So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramothgilead.

And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of all us? And he said, To thee, O captain.

And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of the Lord, even over Israel.

And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the Lord, at the hand of Jezebel.

For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel:

And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah:

10 And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled.

It is written in 2nd Kings 10: 30 30 And the Lord said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in mine heart, thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel. Jehu’s zeal for Gods will to be done was so well done that God promised to bless him and his sons to the fourth generation. This must be a good lesson for all of us & everyone who is being used by God ( President Trump as well) That we can never forget about God & all he has done for us when this is all over. America deserves what is and has happened to us we allowed abortion, God taken out of our government & schools etc. But god is Love, mercy, compassion, forgiveness & everything good. He is always willing to forgive us and welcome us back like the prodigal son. And we must rid America completely of all the evil people running our country their offspring & the evil alters they have erected in satan’s name. We must put God back in all the seven mountains of influence & never allow Him to be removed again. God bless & keep you safe! Amen & Shalom!
