John 3:8 states, “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” The first time I heard the Holy Spirit talk to me was in December 2002 when I had a “come to Jesus moment” and left the music business. I was on the David Allen Coe tour for the previous year. So I was standing in line in a convenience store with my girlfriend. I felt in my conscience to pray for the lady standing in front of us. My girlfriend asked me what I was doing because my eyes were closed. I said, “I am praying for the woman in front of us.” She asked, “Why?”
I have never heard Yahweh in a loud voice from heaven speaking to me in the 18 years I have been a minister. If I ever hear Yahweh call me in a loud voice from heaven, I will ask Him, “Morgan Freeman, is that you?” (Bruce Almighty movie) LOL. Yahweh also speaks to me in movies, TV shows, books, and other media. For example, here are a few things Yahweh has spoken to me in media:
- Doing nothing is as bad as doing the wrong thing.
- War and religion are no place for children.
- Afflictions are sent to bring us to our Bibles and our knees.
- Only the dead fish swim with the stream.
- The key to being a good leader is to be feared without being hated.
- Anything with two heads is demonic.
- Don’t take it personally; it is not about you.
- Political correctness is spiritual blindness.
- If you work hard enough, you can become lucky.
- Not trusting anyone is a terrible way to live.
We all want to hear from Yahweh. Psalms 37:7 (Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.) Mark 4:19 (but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.)
With any relationship, it takes time and effort, the same is true for your relationship with Yahweh. The more you spend in prayer and reading Yahweh’s Word (Jesus), the more you will draw closer to Him and be able to hear or recognize His Wisdom. And don’t just read a little, then pray a little, then run off. You have to be still and wait on Him to speak to you. Once you have learned to recognize His Voice, then you will see Him in everything—and I mean everything! To this day, I still hear Him in my subconscious mind; it really is that simple to me.
Remember, not everyone is a prophet, but everyone has the ability to hear from Yahweh. Please message me if you need prayer to hear from Yahweh.
God bless you and keep you near to Him. Amen & Shalom.
